A. maritima is most likely a typographical error for A. marina (Forssk.) Vierh. On p. 851, Naurois & Roux mentioned A. africana P. Beauv., A. germinans (L.) Stearn, A. marina & A. nitida Jacq. On p. 852, they mentioned the ranges of A. maritima and A. africana [N. C. Duke (in Austral. Syst. Bot. 4(2): 312. 1991) cited A. maritima as a synonym of A. marina and remarked that the type of A. maritima has not been located.]
