A.W. Hill made the stat. nov. inadvertently. He listed P. groenlandica as an accepted species and ascribed it to W. W. Smith and G. Forrest (Notes Roy. Bot. Gard. Edinburgh 16: 24. 1924), who treated this taxon as P. farinosa subsp. groenlandica.
