Remarks
For the basionym, Brouillet referred to Dunkle's 1940 invalid publication (instead of the 1941 valid publication; correctable error). He cited Lotus argophyllus var. ornithopus (Greene) Ottley (1923) as a synonym. Therefore, A. argophyllus var. argenteus (Dunkle) Brouillet, based on a 1941 varietal name, was nomenclaturally superfluous (but not illegitimate) when published (cf. Vienna Code Art. 52.3 Ex. 14).
