‘Eugenia longipes Warb., Bot. Jahrb. Syst. 13: 391. 1891’ is a later homonym (non O.Berg 1856), and ‘Jambosa longipes Diels, Bot. Jahrb. Syst. 57: 382. 1922’ is a replacement name. Merrill and Perry published ‘Syzygium Iongipes nom. nov.’; they cited E. longipes Warb. as the replaced synonym and J. longipes as a synonym, and thus the name S. longipes (Diels) Merr. & L.M.Perry was inadvertently published as a new combination
