Koehne mentioned: 'I should like to know whether “Lythrum rivulare” potius [= rather or preferably] Nesaea rivularis has indeed four stamens like N. kuntzei or eight stamens like N. sagittifolia. Probably it is nothing more than a form of the very variable N. sagittifolia.' His remark is construed here as an expression of taxonomic doubt and the new combination is treated as valid.
