On p. 165, P. Beuav. listed Imperata kaenigii? Pers. as an accepted name; on p. 177, he listed Saccharum koenigii Retz. as a synonym of I. cylindric (L.) P. Beauv. Persoon (Syn. Pl. 1: 103. 1805) treated S. koenigii as an accepted name and provided a description. It is construed here that P. Beauv. (p. 165) validated the name I. koenigii by basing it on S. koenigii sensu Persoon (non Retz.)
