C.B. Clarke gave a description for B. lawesii, whereas Forbes gave a diagnosis (as ‘The habit of the two forms is quite distinct; the Sumatran (B. treubii) is tall, tending to become shrubby; the Papuan (B. lawesii) is low and procumbent.’) Eponymy: Rev. William George Lawes (1839-1907).
