Remarks

Protologue includes a mixture of Old World and New World elements. Howard (Fl. Lesser Antilles 4(1): 295. 1988) treated this taxon as belonging to the New World. Prado (in Taxon 42: 658. 1993) rejected Jacob's LT. and retypified C. baducca with American element (Clifford collection, BM). Rankin & Greuter (in Willdenowia 34: 261. 2004) accepted Jacobs's typification, assigned C. baducca to the Old World, and assigned the American element to C. frondosa DC.
