Remarks
Eponymy: Thomas Leighton Wendt (1950-). The publication of “Agave wendtii Cházaro, Cact. Suc. Mex. 40: 94. 1995” lacked a holotype citation and thus was not validly published. Cházaro (2010) gave an account of A. wendtii, provided a full and direct reference to his 1995 publication, mentioned Ejemplar tipo de Agave wentii, depositado en el herbario XAL, and thus validated the name
