Nomenclatural Notes
Status: nom. illeg. nom. superfl. Nelmes published Carex oedorrhampha as a replacement name for C. tumida Boott 1858 (non “C. tumida Beilschm. 1850”); the preceding name was an indexing error for C. fumida Beilschm. (see Index Kewensis 1: 440. 1893). Perhaps unaware of the typographical error in the Index Kewensis and of the non existence of “C. tumida Beilschm. 1850”, Nelmes treated C. tumida Boott as a later homonym and thus erred in publishing C. oedorrhampha as a replacement name.
