Remarks
Branner & Coville, who authored the article, acknowledged Trelease for revising their list (of plant names), but did not ascribe any nomenclatural novelty to Trelease. Walter (Fl. Carol. 252. 1788) used M. intsia L.; Branner & Coville intended to publish “Schrankia intsia (Walt.)” (sic) as a new combination and cited S. uncinata Willd. 1806 (nom. superfl. & illegit. for M. horridula Michx. 1803) as a synonym
