Nomenclatural Notes
Status: nom. inval. Nir erred in citing the basionym reference as Encyclia vespa subsp. triandra Dod, Orquidea (Mex.) 13: 215, 1993). The cited p. 215 shows Epidendrum cochleatum var. triandrum Ames, and based on the preceding name, Nir made the new combination Prosthechea cochleata subsp. triandra (Ames) Nir
