Status: nom. inval. nom. nud. Generic diagnosis lacking.
Remarks
Dodson published “Benzingia hirtzii Dodson, gen. et sp. nov.” with a single description . At the same time, he transferred Chondrorhyncha estradae Dodson to Benzingia and made the new combination B. estradae. Since Benzingia was published with 2 species (not a monotypic genus) and since it lacked a generic diagnosis or description, none of Dodson’s names were validly published [see Vienna Code Art. 42.2 Ex. 1].
