Kjobenhavn 24 (1854). Type: B grandis Nees”. The cited synonym Barlerianthus has a Latin description. Since Barlerianthus and Barleria sect. Cavirostrata have the same type, they are homotypic., and the latter name was inadvertently published as a nom. & stat. nov. for Barlerianthus
