Remarks
In his invalid publication of the binomial “Cassia purpurea,” Roxburgh (Hort. Beng. 31. 1814) cited “Kala-Kulkashinda,” a Bengali name for this taxon. Lindley did not ascribe C. purpurea to Roxburgh, but referred to Hortus bengalensis p. 31” and cited “Kala-Kulkashinda.” It is construed here that Lindley ascribed C. purpurea to Roxburgh
