Remarks

Passiflora arta from Guyana is easily distinguished from P. coccinea by its narrow leaves and bracts. (vide abstract). Etymology: The Latin specific epithet means “narrow” (street) or “thin” (person). It refers to the narrow leaves and bracts of the new species as compared to the sympatric P. coccinea.
