T. Anderson inadvertently published B. scindica as a sp. nov. for Acanthodium grossum sensu Wight (Icon. Pl. Ind. Orient. tt.1535 & 1536. 1850), non Nees (1847). Anderson's subsequent usage of the epithet as sindica (see J. Linn. Soc., Bot. 9: 500. 1867) is treated as an error.
