Remarks
Holmes & McDaniel (1975) considered M. trachypleura as based on a monstrosity and rejected the preceding name; for the rejection, the authors referred to the then existing International Code of Botanical Nomenclature (the 1972 Seattle Code Art. 71); however, Art. 71 was deleted in the 1979 Leningrad Code; therefore, M. ypacarayensis was superfluous and illegitimate when published.
