Remarks
The new combination Viola pallens subsp. macloskeyi is incorrect. At the rank of species, the priority of the epithet pallens starts from 1905 and of the epithet macloskeyi from 1895. Baker erred in reducing V. macloskeyi as a variety under V. pallens. On p. 60 (dt. 23 Apr 1953), Baker corrected the situation.
