Remarks

The publishing author Ker Gawler ascribed the name U. glacum and its description to Burchell; since Uropetalon included Hyacinthus serotinus L, the type of Dipcadi Medik. (1790), Uropetalon was superfluous and illegitimate when published, and did not need a genus description for a valid publication; therefore, Burchell is the author of the genus name Uropetalon.
