Remarks

Don published the epithet as castanifolium and gave the etymology as … Folia simplicia, opposita, fere Castaneae. Some works correct the epithet to castaneifolium. However, for Chestnut Tree, the Greek name Kastanos (= Castanus (Latin)) exists. Don seems to have derived his epithet from Castanus (not from Castanea). Therefore, no correction is warranted.
