Remarks
Although the article author Ross (1896) ascribed the the varietal name and the description to Bebb (died in 1895), in a footnote (p. 572), Ross mentioned: 'The varietal name used by Mr, Bebb being preoccupied has been changed to the one given above (i.e., Salix barrattiana var. tweedyi); Ross did not mention which epithet was coined by Bebb; since Bebb did not coin the published varietal name S. barrattiana var. tweedyi, he is not part of the authorship, and Ross alone is the author
