ROYAL BOTANIC GARDENS AT KEW LAUNCHES INTERNATIONAL PLANT NAMES INDEX
"KEW, Surrey, United Kingdom, June 27, 2000 (ENS) - Having trouble
deciphering Dipterocarpaceae? Muddling through Marcgraviaceae? Researchers
at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew, England, have launched a web site
that might help. The International Plant Names Index (IPNI) comprises
a list of more than 1.3 million scientific names for seed plants. It
is the product of collaboration between Kew scientists and their counterparts
at Harvard University Herbaria in the US and the Centre for Plant Biodiversity
Research in Canberra, Australia."
