Allioni (Rar. Pedem. Stirp., 7. 1755) used the polynomial “VIOLA ALPINA MINIMA NUMMULARIAE FOLIO,” referred to “Bocc. Mus. p. 2. p. 163 … T. 127,” and gave a detailed description. For his V. nummulariifolia, Villars (Prosp. Hist. Pl. Dauphiné 26. 1779) referred to “Bocc. Mus. 163. Tab. CXXVII” and “ALLION. 7”. In 1785, Allioni published as a new species (“VIOL A nummularifolia N.”), referred to his 1755 publication and to Villars’s 1779 publication, and thus created an isonym
