L. (pp. 33-34) cited the epithet as cucullaris and referred to Cucullaria Buxb. ...; later, he revised his epithet to: cucullaria (in Amoen. Acad. 4: 296. Nov 1759) & to Cucullaria (in Sp. Pl. ed. 2. 2: 1491. 1763). [In a pers. comm., Werner Greuter (B) remarked that cucullaris, -e, an adjective formed from cucullus (means hood-like), is not correctable to cucullaria.]
