Remarks
The protologue of Tapanhuacanga (1788) did not include binomials or indicate that there was more than one species in the genus. Subsequently, Steudel proposed T. brasiliensis without a description or diagnosis, but gave a reference to Vandelli. Since Steudel assigned T. brasiliensis as the only species to the genus, the species name was validly published (see Shenzhen Code Art. 38.12, Ex. 21)
