Remarks
Etymology: The term ‘‘Kavir’’ in Farsi means the large salt deserts and playas of Iran. This is equivalent to the Arabic term ‘‘Sabkha’’ known in most recent western literature. ‘‘Dasht-e Kavir’’ refers to the great desert plain in central Iran. doi:10.1080/11263504.2012.662921
