Remarks
Under P. communis, Arvet-Touvet recognized 4 taxa; for each taxon, he assigned a Roman capital letter and provided a binomial and a description. In his preface (p. 11, paragraph 3), he mentioned that he was uncertain on the rank of the Roman-lettered taxa (whether species or variety). Since the Roman-lettered taxa have binomials, Arvet-Touvet’s doubt is treated as an expression of taxonomic doubt, and P. saussureoides is recognized here at the rank of species
