Nomenclatural Notes
Status: nom. inval. Remarks: Reference to the basionym lacking. Ansari & Jeeja cited the authorship as “(Hook. f. & Thomson) R. Ansari & G. Jeeja” and the synonyms as: “N. stellata Willd. var. versicolor (Roxb.) Hook. f. & Thomson, Fl. Ind. 1: 243. 1855 & in Hook. f., Fl. Brit. India 1: 114. 1872; N. versicolor Roxb., Hort. Beng.: 41. 1814 & in Fl. Ind. 2: 577. 1832.” Hooker and Thomson, however, based their new combination on N. versicolor Sims (Bot. Mag. 29: t. 1189. 1809). Therefore, Ansari & Jeeja’s intended new combination was not validly published (see Melbourne Code Art. 41 Ex. 20)
