Remarks
Etymology: The specific epithet denotes the ‘Lion of Kerala,’ great Pazhassiraja, who made valiant movements against English rulers, fighting for freedom. Wayanad forests and its ethnic group ‘Kurichya community’ gave shelter and support to this great warrior, during his traditional war against the English Army.
