Little published Viola epipsila Ledeb. var. repens (Turcz. ex Trautv. & C.A. Mey.) R.J. Little and cited V. repens Turcz. ex Trautv. & C.A. Mey. 1856 (non Schwein. 1822) as the basionym and Viola epipsila subsp. repens (Turcz. ex Trautv. & C.A. Mey.) W. Becker (1917) as a synonym. Little's error is treated as a correctable bibliographic error (see Vienna Code Art. 33.5).
