Nomenclatural Notes
Status: nom. inval. Under the treatment of Aechmea cymoso-paniculata, Baker stated the following: The true paniculigera has a bipinnate panicle and the flowers are sessile. This is in the Berlin Herbarium as Bromelia latifolia Willd., and Aechmea latifolia Klotzsch. Baker did not indicate whether he accepted B. latifolia or A. latifolia. In the index, both names are listed in italics (synonyms).
