Specific epithet refers to the botanical partnerships in two botanical couples, Gwilym Peter Lewis (K) & Bente Bang Klitgaard (BM), the holotype collectors, and Peter Møller Jørgensen (MO) & María del Carmen Ulloa Ulloa (MO), the paratype collectors of this species.
