Nomenclatural Notes
Status: nom. inval. On p. 89, under the genus name Caesalpinia, Dalzell published “C. ? spicata” and provided a description; on p. 90, Dalzell remarked that the species is different from Caesalpinia, gave the distinguishing characters, and mentioned that “it may be called Wagatea, and thus defined”; he did not combine the epithet spicata with Wagatea to make W. spicata
