Merrill listed “Fleminga macrophylla (Willd.) O. Kuntze ex Prain in Journ. As. Soc. Beng. 66(2) (1897) 440, in nota” as an accepted name. However, Merrill’s citation of the authorship “(Willd.) O. Kuntze ex Prain” is an error. Prain (l.c.) treated “F. macrophylla Kuntze” as a pro synonym of “Flemingia congesta Roxb. var. typica” (invalid). Kuntze (Revis. Gen. Pl. 1: 199. 1891) did not publish F. macrophylla, but published Maughania macrophylla. Therefore, Merrill alone is the author of the new combination
