Remarks

According to D. H. Nicolson (in Taxon 35: 326. 1986), puber is an irregular one-ending adjectival epithet (i.e., same ending for all the three genders). Werner Greuter (B; pers. comm.) is of the opinion that the preceding analysis might be applicable to classical Latin, but not to the currently employed botanical Latin.
