Remarks
Hooker, the publishing author, simultaneously ascribed the name and its validating description to Benthm. Greek rhynchos is a neuter substantive epithet and does not decline with the gender of the genus. [As a neuter adjective epithet, it would be ornithorhynchon.] Therefore, Pedicularis ornithorhynchos is correct as published.
