Remarks
Kunth (Enum. Pl. 2: 23. 1837) cited C. intricatus Linn. Mant. 182. (1771) (an error for Scirpus intricatus L.) as a synonym of C. aristatus Rottb. Following Kunth's treatment, Herter (l.c.) treated C. intricatus Schrad. (1824) as a later homonym (non L. 1771) and published C. schraderi as its replacement name (non C. schraderi J. F. Macbr. 1929). C. schraderi Herter is doubly illegitimate (superfluous and a later homonym).
