Status: nom. inval. Kitamura cited the basionym reference as: Chrysanthemum japonense Makino (in Bot. Mag. (Tokyo) 42(502): 459. 1928). The preceding name itself is a new combination based on C. morifolium f. japonense Makino. [see Melbourne Code Art. 41.8 Ex. 20]
