Remarks
Protologue: Viburnum bracteatum is most nearly related to Virburnum pubescens, Pursh, Viburnum affine, Bush, herb., Viburnum demetrionis, Robinson & Deane, which all have stipulate petioles. From them it differs in its large flowers and large conspicuous bracts ; from the first two species it is easily distinguished by its glandular-puberulous inflorescence, long peduncles, and the shallowly and obtusely toothed leaves ... (V. affine is not distinguished).
