[Gandhi 20 Jul 1999] Krug & Urb. (Bot. Jahrb. Bot. 24: 42. 1897) and Urb. (Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 15: 166. 1918) also made this new combination; Nuttall (J. Acad. Nat. Sci. Philadelphia, ser. 2. 1:185. 1847) assigned Viscum rubrum to Phoradendron, but did not make the new combination.
