Remarks
Although P. Landry (Bull. Soc. Bot. France 122: 43-252. 1975) treated A. intermedia as an hybrid of A. arborea (including A. laevis) and A. canadensis, the findings of A. C. Dibble & al. (Syst. Bot. 23: 31–40. 1998) do not support an hybrid origin.
