Remarks
Reference to the basionym indirect. Without citing the basionym epithet Spiraea [unranked] Petrophytum, Rydberg (1900) elevated it to a genus and spelled it as Petrophyton. He (in N. Amer. Fl. 22(3): 252. 12 Jun 1908; Fl. Rocky Mts. 404. 1917), however, corrected the generic name spelling to Petrophytum.
