Remarks
The description of the genus refers to the winged achenes, therefore, the published spelling of the name (Schizopsera) appears to have been an error for 'Schizoptera' meanting cleft- or split-winged. See also Ann. Bot. Syst. (Walpers) 5: 210 (in adnot.). 1859: 'In textu 'Schizopsera', certe lapsu typographico'.
