Remarks

Given as Š2. by C.Mueller and as a sectio by Fournier, Ann. Sci. Nat. ser. 4, 15 (1861) 172 where it is spelt `Lophantha'. Fosberg, op. cit. pp. 73, 74 states that Mueller's name is not accompanied by a diagnosis, however a diagnosis is included by Mueller. As Miquel included only one species under his Š. LOPHANTHA which Bentham included under his Š. SPICIFLORAE, it cannot be regarded as superfluous. Fosberg's sect. PACHYSPERMA, therefore, must be regarded as superfluous.
