Remarks
Also publ. in Gard. Chron. 1866(no. 19): 432. 12 May 1866. Protologue: NEPENTHES (HYBRIDA) MACULATA: A remarkable hybrid raised by Mr. Dominy, who has the honour of being the only person who has hitherto succeeded in hybridizing Nepenthes, between N. distillatoria and a new unnamed spotted Bornean species. In habit it partakes of the free growth of N. distillatoria, producing a profusion of beautiful pitchers, almost equal In size to those of that species, and thickly covered with bright red spots, from which peculiarity it takes its name. It requires the same treatment as N. Rafflesiana.
