Léveillé states that he established his new genus for species previously assigned to 'des genres Dryopteris et Aspidium (Polystichum)'. There are minimal descriptions in a key, making the names valid as combinations under Art. 41.4, ICN (2018); however, this name is keyed as 'non', which may make it a nom. inval., using a negative description.
