[Gandhi 25 Aug 2000] Torrey (Trans. Ann. Lyc. New York 3: 413. 1836) altered the ending of the epithet, from -iana (adjective) to ii (gentitive; as houghtonii); this change is unacceptable (See Voss, Rhodora 68: 451. 1966)
