Usually cited as R.Brown in Nees in R.Brown's Verm. Bot. Schriften 3 (1827) 298 - seen at L per J.West, ABLO, however the combination is not validly made there or in R.Brown's Prodromus. Given under Acanthaceae by Hooker, and probably belongs to ADENOSMA sensu Nees in Wallich, Pl. Asiaticae Rar. 3 (1832) 75 (non R.Br. 1810), which is regarded by Airy Shaw in Willis, Dict. Fl. Pl. & Ferns ed. 7 (1966) 22 (and others) as being a synonym of CARDANTHERA Buch.-Ham.
