Remarks
Raf. cited the basionym as Gent. 5flora L. and his new combination epithet as quinqueflora. Although Linnaeus’s published epithet quinquefolia has been presumed to be an error for quinqueflora (cyme often 5-flowered (leaves not 5-fid)) , a correction is not warranted (see Art. 23.2).
